As there is a pending lawsuit in this matter, Neptune Township's attorney has advised members of the Township Committee not to discuss redevelopment negotiations in public at this time. Charles advised the audience that the Township will require a study of the water table, the results of which may affect plans for underground parking, which is in the current redevelopment plan. In addition, the plan must comply with the regulations of CAFRA (the Coastal Area Facility Review Act). Charles reported also that New Jersey has increased Neptune's requirement for affordable housing, which may or may not be included in the number of North End units. Our organization will keep an eye on the progress of the redevelopment. In answer to a question from the audience, president Dunlap stated he would put the North End Committee report on the OGHOA website.
Trustee Barbara Burns, a member of the North End Committee, also spoke of her concerns about the Township keeping the process open on this issue, and recommended to the audience that they vote affirmatively on the following motion: That the Ocean Grove Home Owners Association send a letter to the Neptune Township Committee urging the Township Committee to be open and transparent regarding the negotiations of the North End redevelopment agreement. Motion was seconded; motion carried. President Dunlap thanked Charles and Barbara for all their hard work and diligence in working on this committee.

              Membership Meeting 10/25/08:
The meeting was called to order by president Dunlap at 10:10 a.m. with a prayer offered by trustee Barbara Burns, followed by the pledge of allegiance.
A motion was made and seconded to dispense with the reading of the minutes of the last membership meeting of Saturday, September 27, 2008. Motion was passed by audience vote.
Treasurer Charles Layton gave a quarterly financial report covering the period July 1 to September 30, 2008. Our assets total $30,195.00. Three years ago, from the records of past treasurer Joyce Dawson, our assets were some $3,000.00 less than that.
Charles also gave a report on the August breakfast meeting. There were 79 tickets sold at $10.00 per ticket, totaling $790.00. After payment to The Starving Artist restaurant, we realized a profit of $120.00. (Charles misspoke about the breakfast money. We had 79 breakfasts served for a total of $790 expended to the Starving Artist Restaurant. We sold 91 tickets for a total of $910 - $790 = $120 profit.
As chair of the North End Committee, Charles has prepared a report on what is known about the redevelopment project (COPY ON FILE), and brought the audience up to date on some of the issues.
